So we found ourselves back at the 449 Room again on Friday night (4/7/06). After some sound delays and bad microphone cables, we finally began the evening with "The Ledge". The night was fairly laid back for the band, as we've been in hiding recently working on recording and writing new material. So unfortunately, we didn't introduce any new songs this evening.

We did, however, decide to take a stab at covering Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away", which seemed to go over well with the audience. We also covered "Scars" by Papa Roach, "Like the Way I Do" by Melissa Etheridge, and a punked out version of Roy Orbison's "You Got It".

We ended the set, felt pretty good about it, and then proceeded to get to know Charlie, the 449 Room bartender for the evening. There were some shots, some drinks, some pool games, and an all-around good time for the band.

That's basically the evening in a nutshell, nothing all that new to report from this show.

What's in the future: Well, in the near future is Odds Are's semi-acoustic night at the Saint in Asbury Park, kicking off no smoking in New Jersey bars. That show is Saturday, April 15th, 2006. We're still waiting on more details but we'll post them when we get them.

In the slightly more distant future, we'll be back in the studio next month working on our newly updated recordings (you can find the unmixed versions here). We'll have more on that once we've got things mixed down better.

And of course, in June, we'll be doing a United Way benefit sponsored by Merrill Lynch at the Conduit in Trenton, NJ! The date is set for Friday, June 23rd, 2006. This is going to be a big night for everyone! If you're in a band and you're interested in playing the event, please feel free to contact us here. We're looking to fill the opening slot with another good local band that has a draw. This is a great opportunity and will be a good time - plenty of people! We'll have more details as that approaches as well.
